Civics Update for January 3-17

This update is going to cover a long period of time due to Mr. Zukowski not in the classroom for a week. 

There will be a project that needs to be completed and we will talk about the project and there will be plenty of time to complete it.

The second half of the alphabet will have to have turn in their Current Events on Monday, January 6.  This is Grading Period 3, CE#2.

All students will need to turn in Current Events on Monday, January 13.  This will be Grading Period 3, CE#3.

Information for the semester exam has been distributed on OneDrive, Edmodo, LiveGrades, as well as school email.  The study guide has been set up to be practiced through Quizlet. 

There will be no Preambles during this time period.

Here is the agenda for the time period:

Friday, January 3: 

  • An alumnus from GHS will speak about civic participation.  
  • The fourth period will complete the open packet test that the other classes completed prior to the break.  
  • If any other students need to finish the test, this is the day to do it.


Monday, January 6: 

  • Current Events are due for the second half of the alphabet.  This is Grading Period 3, CE#2.
  • Information about the semester exam
  • Presidential projects information
  • Video on Market Economy



Tuesday, January 7:

  • Markey Economy activity
Wednesday, January 8 and Thursday, January 8:
  • Work on Presidential project on iPads
Friday, January 10:
  • Robert Bolton, a local attorney, will be speaking to the classes
Monday and Tuesday (January 13/14):
  • Monday:  All students will turn in Current Events.  Grading Period 3, CE#3
  • Work in the upstairs computer lab to print Presidential projects
Wednesday and Thursday (January 15/16):
  • Students present Presidential Projects to the class.
Friday, January 17:
  • Semester Exams

Friday, January 17
  • 1st Period 8:00 – 9:35

  • 7th Period 11:55 – 1:30
  • 8th Period 1:35 -3:10

Tuesday, Janaury 21:

  • 3rd Period 7:55 – 9:30
  • 4th/5th Period 9:35 – 11:05
  • Lunch Combined 11:10 – 11:40
  • 6th Period 11:45 – 1:15
  • Students will remain in the 6th period unless they have a makeup exam scheduled for 1:15.
