Civics Update for April 16-20

***The first half of the alphabet will present their Current Events to the class on Monday.  This will be Grading Period 6, Current Events #1.
***You will need to be sure to bring your textbooks to class daily.  We will be working on assignments using the textbooks.  There will be no notes given in this chapter.   You will need to read the material to find answers to questions.
***The Total Recall questions this week will have parentheses at the end.  This will note what page you will find information on the topic.


Here is the schedule for Civics for the week of April 16-20

Monday:

• Total Recall
• Current Events – First half of the alphabet
• Students read p. 356 to 363 and complete following activity
• Civics 12-1 Questions Activity

Tuesday:

• Total Recall Question
• Students read pages 369 to 375 and complete the following activity
• Civics 12-2 Questions Activity

Wednesday:

• Total Recall Question
• Students watch Crash Course video #38 How Voters Decide
• Debate of 1960  (p. 354-355) Nixon and Kennedy  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QazmVHAO0os  

Thursday:

• Total Recall Question
• Students use Ipads to complete Activity: Campaign Strategy Activity Internet  https://www.americanhistoryusa.com/campaign-trail/

Friday:

• Modified schedule for the day due to the school play
• Total Recall Question Turned in
• Campaign Videos from http://www.livingroomcandidate.org/ 
• Students view video and complete activity – The Anatomy of a Political Ad – complete and present on Monday.

The Second half of the Alphabet will turn in Current Events (Grading Period 6, Current Events #2) on Monday, April 23.
