Civics Update or Movember 11-15

Please remember the reason we have November 11 off.  It is for Veteran's Day.  Here is a brief history of Veteran's Day.

Since there is no school on Monday, Current Events will be due on Tuesday.  This will be Grading Period 2, CE#3 for the first half of the alphabet.  There is no excuse for not turning in Current Events since everyone had the schedule for at least 5 weeks.  If you don't have current events and it is your day to turn in, a current events paper will be given to you.

Here is the agenda or the week:

Monday:

• No School

Tuesday:

• Meet in the upstairs computer lab
• Preamble
• Turn in Current Events.  
• Students will complete the Congress Scavenger Hunt project by printing items off.  This project is due on Friday.

Wednesday:

• Preamble
• Lesson on taxation
• Read pages 155 to 168 or Thursday

Thursday:

• Preamble
• 4-3C Notes p. 155 to 158 
• 4-4 Notes The Implied and Non-legislative Powers p.159 to 168 

Friday:

• Preamble turn-in
• Congress Scavenger Hunt projects due.  You can turn in earlier in the week.
• 4-5 Notes Congress at Work – Organization and Committees p.170 to 181
