Civics Update for November 4-8

Reminders:

• Current Events on Monday for the second half of the alphabet.  Grading Period 2, CE#2.  Remember that the last question on the forms have changed and you need to answer it.  "Headline Roundup" is not a proper response for the source of the article.  
• Remember your Edmodo logins.

Here is the update for the week:

Monday:

• New Preamble Paper
• Current Events - Grading Period, CE#21 for the second half of the alphabet.
• Bring the worksheets from Friday's class.  We will discuss them.  
• We will watch "Robert C. Byrd:  Soul of the Senate" about the life of Senator Byrd.  

Tuesday:

• Preamble
• Congressional Scavenger Hunt - you will be working in groups this week to create a poster to meet certain criteria.  We will meet in the upstairs computer lab on Wednesday.
• Finish "Soul of the Senate" video

Wednesday:

• Preamble
• Upstairs computer lab to work on Congressional Scavenger Hunt
• Students will print and assemble posters for Congressional Scavenger Hunt.  Bring scissors and makers if you have them.  

Thursday:

• Preamble
• Discretionary and Mandatory Spending video
• Activity on Government Spending

Friday:

• Preamble turn in
• Video and activity on taxation.
