Civics Update for February 18-22

There will be no school on Monday, February 18 in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.

The grading period ends on Tuesday.  Be sure to have any assignments from the fourth grading period turned in by 9:00 am on Wednesday so grades can be entered on Live Grades.

Current Events is due on Tuesday for the second half of the alphabet.  This will be Grading Period 5, CE#1.

Here is the agenda for the week:


Monday:

  • Read pages 303-306 for Tuesday


Tuesday:

  • Current Events for the second half of the alphabet.
  • New Preamble Paper

  • EQ Notes 10-8:  How does the U.S. Justice system address civil and criminal law?
  • Read pages 310-313 for Wednesday

Wednesday:

  • Preamble
  • EQ Notes 10-9:  What are the guarantees of a fair trial and protections for those convicted of crimes?
  • Students prepare chapter packet



Thursday:

  • Preamble
  • Chapter Packet test.  There will not be a traditional test on the chapter.  You will be using your chapter packet to complete a test for Chapter 10.  You will turn in your chapter packet following the completion of your test.


Friday:

  • Turn in Preambles
  • Complete Chapter Packet test if needed
  • Starting next week, we will start mock court cases.  Cases and assignments will be assigned on Friday.
