Civics update for October 1 to 5

Monday, October 1, is a momentous occasion for a couple of reasons.  First, it is the beginning of the federal fiscal year in which the budget year starts.  Also, the first Monday in October is the beginning of the U.S. Supreme Court year.

Last Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day and I conducted a voter registration drive in conjunction with Youth Leadership Association (YLA).  I gave extra credit to those who registered or verified that they are registered.  I am still offering that if you are able to show me evidence of this.  I know many of you are not 18 yet, so if you bring in any political/election campaign paraphernalia, I will provide extra credit.  Do not take yard signs, as this is a crime!

When using iPad/computers:

  • Use the device you are assigned
  • Place in the correct location when you are done, if you can't figure out where it goes back, put the device on top of the cart!
  • When are create a Microsoft Office document or powerpoint, you need to name the document.  When naming, use your name and the name of the assignment.
  • If you are working in partners, you need to share the document/powerpoint with your partners.  If someone is absent, all parties are able to have access to the document.
