Civics Update for week of February 5-8

***Current Events for the second half of the alphabet is due on Monday.  Grading Period 4, Current Events #3
***You can still earn extra credit for viewing the movie "The Post" in theaters.  You must have a one-page review and how it impacts government and America.  You must turn this in by Wednesday.
***There will be another opportunity for extra credit.  There will be a viewing of "Heroin(e)" at Buffalo Flats on February 16 at 6:30 p.m.  More info will be given in the future.
***Sways will be presented to the teacher on Thursday.  If you have questions, you can see Mr. Zukowski before school, after school, or during AA.  Do not hesitate.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:

  • Review of Plessy v. Ferguson question from last week and it's lasting impact.
  • New Total Recall for the week.
  • Continue working on Sway.  This will be the last day you will be working on in class.  They will be presented to the teacher on Thursday.
  • Your chapter 8 packet must be finished by today.  Check OneDrive if you need any materials.


Tuesday:

  • Total Recall question
  • Students will complete chapter 8 packet review.  There are going to be several questions for each item in the packet.  You need to bring your chapter packet to class.  If you do not, you will be completing the review without it.  This is worth a test score.
  • If time remains, you can work on your Sway.
  • Chapter 8 test tomorrow.



Wednesday:

  • Total Recall Question
  • Turn in chapter 8 packet.  (337 points)
  • Complete chapter test



Thursday:

  • Chapter 10 vocabulary will be completed in class.
  • Sways will be presented to the teacher.
  • Read pages 280-283 for Friday.



Friday: 

  • Total Recall to be turned in.
  • There will be a pre-test given for different concepts of civil liberties.  You will not be able to use any outside sources.  Following the civil liberties chapter, there will be post-test.
  • EQ Notes 10-1 will be about the Bill of Rights.
  • Read pages 283 to 284 for Monday.
