Civics Update for week of December 11-15

***Current Events for the first half of the alphabet is due Monday at the beginning of class.

***If you are attending the play on Wednesday, you need to get the make-up assignment paper to Mr. Zukowski at the beginning of the class period.

***PIPS Quiz on Friday.

Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday:

  • Read pages 196-200
  • We will detail several of the 15 executive departments of the federal government.
  • Read pages 200 to 204 for Tuesday.


Tuesday:

  • We will look at agencies which are independent of executive departments and sometimes independent of Congress and the President.
  • Read pages 206 to 209 for Wednesday.


Wednesday:

  • We are going to look at the federal budget and the debt the United States currently has.  
  • Read pages 209 through 214 for Thursday.


Thursday:

  • We will take a look at how the federal government spends money through the budget process between the President and Congress.
