Civics Update November 6-10


***There will be a two-hour early dismissal on Thursday and no school on Friday for the observance of Veterans Day.
***You need to make sure you have all assignments turned in by Tuesday morning.
***Revised PowerPoints must be completed on Monday and the original grade slip needs to be turned back in.

Monday:

  • The second half of the alphabet is required to turn in Current Events.  
  • We will continue the notes from Friday on the implied powers of Congress.
  • We will try to reapportion districts with the ReDistricting Game.
  • Read pages 137-142 for Tuesday.


Tuesday:

  • We will complete 5-4 Notes on the roles of the House of Representatives.
  • Gerrymandering will be the topic of discussion for the remainder of the class.
  • Read pages 143-147 for Wednesday.


Wednesday:

  • New Current Events schedules will be distributed.  All students will be required to turn in Current Events on Monday, November 13.  
  • We will discuss the United States Senate with 5-5 notes.
  • Read pages 149-157 for Thursday



Thursday:

  • We will look at the leadership roles in the United States Congress and how bill go through the United States Congress (EQ Notes 5-6)
Friday:  No School (Observance of Veterans Day)
