Civics Update for September 18-22

Reminder that the Constitution Day Lecture at the Mother's Day Shrine on Sunday, September 17 at 3 pm.

The first half of the alphabet will turn in Current Events 1-3 on Monday.


The first six weeks grading period will end September 26.  You need to make sure you have any and all work turned in before then.  You will not be able to make up any work for the first grading period after that.


Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday:  It all goes as scheduled, we will have a judge come ot class during 1st period and it will be recorded to be played in the rest of the classes.


Tuesday:

  • We will review chapter 2 study guide #26-50
  • There will be an essential question quiz for chapter 2.  Here are the possible questions:
    • 2-1:  What ideas expressed in the Magna Carta do you think would most influence the authors of the U.S. Constitution? 
    • 2-2  What princples expressed in state constitutions later influenced the writing the U.S. Constitution?:  
    • 2-4:  What compromises regarding slavery was made in the U.S. Constitution?
    • 2-5:  Two states waited almsot 4 years to ratify the Constituion after they waited for the Bill of RIghts.  Why were the Bill of Rights important to these states and the Antifederalists? 
  • Bill of Rights discussion
  • Turn in your Constitution Day Lecture essay if you intend to do so.  



Wednesday:

  • Continue Bill of Rights Discussion
  • Vocabulary Quiz for chapters 1 and 2.
  • Prepare chapter 2 packet to be turned in on Thursday.



Thursday (2 hour early release schedule for Thuse):

  • Chapter 2 Test.  Be sure to turn in your packet before the test.
  • Chapter 3 Vocabulary  




Friday (2 hour early release):

  • Introduction to Chapter 3.
