Civics Update for the week of August 28 trough September 1

Some students still need to complete the baseline tests for PIPS and/or Citizenship tests.  You will not get a grade until they are finished.

This week we will be finishing chapter 1.  This will include a couple of quizzes and finally a chapter test.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:

  • Total Recall Question of the day.
  • The second half of  the alphabet is to turn in current events activities.
  • Review study guide questions 1-25
  • Complete EQ 1-1 Notes 


Tuesday:

  • Total Recall Question of the day.
  • Review study guide questions 26-50.
  • We will review systems of government and cover examples of systems of government throughout the world.


Wednesday:  Modified schedule

  • Total Recall Question of the day.
  • Vocabulary Quiz (10 terms from chapter 1).  To help you study, click this link.
  • Essential Question Quiz.  You will be able to use your notes to answer one of the selected questions below.
    • From EQ 1-1:  How do services that provided by the government benefit an entire country?
    • From EQ 1-1:  How is conflict resolved as a function of government?
    • From EQ 1-2:  Our Founding Fathers used the social contract theory for our nation.  What is the social contract theory?
    • From EQ 1-2:  How did rulers use the divine right theory as they ruled?
    • From EQ 1-3:  How is the rule of law supposed to be fair to all?
    • From EQ 1-4:  Why is citizen participation important?
  • Make sure chapter 1 packet is organized.


Thursday (revised):
  • We will be going in the upstairs computer lab.
  • All students need to be sure they are able to log into the school's Microsoft 365 account.
  • We will be looking at different resources available to students to use for and in Civics clas
Friday:
  • Total Recall Question - turn in Total Recall Question
  • Turn in chapter 1 packet
  • Take chapter 1 test
  • Start chapter 2 vocabulary
