Civics Update for week of August 21-25

Periods 1, 2, 3, 4/5 will meet on Monday due to the three-hour early release due to the eclipse. Thursday will be a two-hour early release and all classes will meet.   Remember, Monday and Tuesday will be the first day to turn in the current events assignment.

We have a link on Quizlet for everyone to study vocabulary terms, study guides, and other resources to practice for in class.  Click this link to get started.

Emails with links to the class OneDrive documents have been sent.  There are some students Mr. Zukowski did not have email addresses to, so they need to be added later.

Classes that are meeting on Monday will complete a Total Recall question and chapter 1 vocabulary.

On Tuesday, we will have a total recall question as well as completing the Citizenship test.  Remember, the goal is to get 80% by the end of the school year.  This test is just a baseline and a starting point.  We will do this at least 2 other times through the school year.  You will also receive a study guide for chapter 1 test.  Read pages 6-10 in your textbook for Wednesday.

Instruction on Wednesday will start with Essential Question notes about the "Functions of Government."  Also, read pages 10-12 for Thursday.

Thursday is an early dismissal day and will include instruction of theories of rule.  We will also review functions of government.

We will finish the week with comparing different types of governments through the world.  You will turn in your Total Recall question on Friday.

Ms. Wyatt sent a message on LiveGrades about scholarship opportunities.  Please look at that message as there are some great opportunities there.
