Civics Update for December 9-13

Two more weeks until Christmas break!

Here are some reminders:

• If you have missed a quiz, you will need to make it up.  The quiz will be posted on Edmodo the next day.  You will need to complete it on your own time or during AA.
• Missing assignment lists will be distributed in class on Monday.  I suggest you to turn them in prior to Christmas break.
• Current Events for the second half of the alphabet needs to be completed for Monday.  This is Grading Period 3, CE#1.

Here is the agenda for the week:

Monday:

• New Preamble paper
• Current Events for the second half of the alphabet.  Grading period 3, CE#1
• Finish open packet test if needed
• Introduction to the Executive Branch chapter (Topic 5)
• Topic 5 Vocabulary (due Wednesday)
• Read pages 200-206 for Tuesday

Tuesday:

• Preamble
• 5-1 Notes:  An introduction to the Presidency
• Read pages 207-210 for Wednesday

Wednesday:

• Plickers Quiz
• Videos on presidential powers
• 5-2 Notes:  The Vice President and the First Lady

Thursday:

• Preamble
• All in a Day's Work - a profile of the roles of the president

Friday:

• Preamble turn in
• Supreme Court nominations activity
• Read pages 211-216 for Monday
